1957 - 1989 Florida's Little Ice Age
I was reading up on the winter of 1989 down in Florida and I found this really interesting story about record cold events for Florida. Some are incredible. This story refers to 1957 - 1989 being Florida's unofficial "Little Ice Age". Check it out and see what you think. Dec 24th and 25th of 1989 was incredible. Snow and wind chills below zero. I had to work out in that. Talk about not being prepared for the weather.
Anyway. Enjoy.

I have found a number of pages "missing" latelty on articles of cooling periods within the last 50 years in the US. Makes me wonder what is going on. Several articles on CO2 seem to have gone missing as well.
They should take the warning labels off of everything and let stupidity sort itself out.

-- possible off topic post --
*IF* you wanted to rid the world of a few billion 'useless eaters'
and IF you knew we were going into oh - say an Ice Age, not only
would you try at 1st to keep the info from them, but when it starts
to become obvious something is wrong, you could instead
say Wow its gonna get Hot...

That could be funny if the possibility of it being true wasn't there. But since it is possible....it loses its luster on the funny bone. However I don't think it goes that deep. I still believe its a more shallow and greedy attempt to fund a billion dollar election. That sounds more inline with the human race at this point. But then again I have often wondered if governments have not waged wars to control the population somewhat.

[tinfoil hat+duct tape]
for a fact US military is more afraid of 'Cooling' than 'Warming'
when the whitepages came out on the US plan of action incase the gulf stream shut down, it met with some alarm. but it read too much like a sci-fi/horror book or the backstory of a videogame, and never got taken as seriously as it should have. Basically it was an all out war over energy reserves with China and a coalition of other countries in europe.
I think its more about energy than population controll. A large population can be used to further a country's goals in an all out situation like this more than people think. the problem is movilizing them, which is the hardest part.

Interesting.
The mid-80s were brutal for Florida. In 1983, my grandparents fulfilled their lifes dream by purchasing an orange grove in Dunellon, FL. Their plan was to spend winters there picking oranges, and summers in their home in NC.
Dec '83 was cold. I mean, air temps below zero in western NC. Central FL had upper 20s. Their entire grove was destroyed. They had produced just one crop of oranges. |
