Four years? Good. If this triggers an out of control black hole that would give me four years to hunt those down that are responsible and end them. i don't think there's anything to worry about...
there's already one in operation in chicago according to that article. The LHC is just a lot bigger...(according to the article)
I'm guessing all this controversy is political. One group of scientists against multiple groups of scientists and environmentalists.
