News Feeds

I've put up the first phase of the news feed service on the site. This will give you news updates from a couple of different climate change websites, recent earthquake activity from the USGS and tropical updates from the National Hurricane Center. I'll add more feeds later.

http://www.climatepatrol.com/news/

Link also found in the menu on the left. Rss-News

If you have any feeds you'd like to see added please let me know.

Thanks to Hellmutt for providing some more great news feeds. This should keep some people busy for a while :-)

Very nice :)

I knew some of my 846 feeds would be useful some day

The RSS archive system is in place. It isn't exactly what I want but its going to have to do for now. When someone looks at a news feed it is automatically archived. Once we have a system where I can set feeds to automatically download ever 3 hours we'll be able to archive absolutely everything. But until then its only the modules that get viewed. So for example if you view any NHC RSS link it will archive ALL NHC links currently in the system. Simply accessing NHC will do the job.

You can view the archives here...

http://www.climatepatrol.com/newsarchives/

Or you can click the Rss-News-Archives link in the main menu on the left. Revision numbers have to do with the time the feeds were archived. The number ranges from 1 to 8. The lower the number the earlier in the day. The higher the number the later. 4 is about mid day. 8 is approaching midnight.

Make sense?

A new news feed has been added. I have added the National Hurricane Center feeds for the Pacific basin.

Enjoy,
Indy
