Mothers Day Washout
Today for a big part of the Great Lakes region will be a perfect day to just stay inside. It has rained all night and through noon so far. I have attached the latest radar loop from the NWS. Quite an impressive low pressure system.
What is the weather like where you are at today?

warm, dry, light cloud. We never get any interesting weather here.
Is this the storm that fired off a few tornadoes?
Seems like there have been a high number of tornadoes in recent months. Does anyone know if it's above average? |

I think this is the storm that caused it but that was south of where I live in Indianapolis. It has just been rain here. It seems the number of casualties this year has been a bit high.

Its all rain but later it will get really windy as the low moves out. I think we are pretty much in the center of the big circulation.

Here it's mostly cloudy, light breeze (W 5-10 mph), and a forecast high of 55°F.
Next Thursday I have a forecast high of 88°F.
"The rain it raineth every day, and every night also -- week in and week out, from the rising of the sun to the going down of the same, there is nothing but rain, rain, rain, 'The windows of heaven are opened up.' Pluvius, grieved at some earth-giving wrong, weeps as if he never would dry up." - Overland Press (Olympia, WA), December 1861 |

Hail in NC:

And provided the radar isn't lying, it's snowing right now in parts on the mountains. Last time I'm *sure* we had snow in NC in May was 1992. |

it was in the mid 70s today in durango. its seems like its been a pretty warm spring here. ZEBRA, im wondering what the next 2 months look like or even just the summer for south west colorado if u have the time to run the numbers. forecasters r calling for a dry summer this year but thats what they said last year also which turned out to be a pretty wet summer when the monsoons hit. |

Zebra is no longer with us
I have no idea why he left. No explanation, he had all his posts deleted and he left.
I sure wished he would come back. That guy was the most accurate weather forecaster I have ever met. Maybe he saw something or knows something and cannot say and was not allowed to write about it.
I remember his last words were, "This coming winter will be brutal."

Wow. That's unusual. Still have his contact info (email?) Maybe you can contact him to see what's up.
Who did he work for? |

Indy already tried to email him. No response. I believe we have a couple more here that can help us with forecasts though.
