Odd Phoenix weather

The temperature right now is around 70 degrees. On Sunday we have our first 100 degree day, and on Monday we hit a record 110. Then yesterday we had a near record low. The record was 48 and we hovering around 50. This came with unseasonable rain. Basically we had a winter storm in the middle of May, which is unheard of here. Record lows and highs in 3 days time, no wonder I'm freezing.

This came after a very cool spring, we've been in the 80's for months, and that in itself is unusual. We're known for going straight from winter to summer, with perhaps a week of Spring.

Here's an article about the drastic change. I'm sure you can find a lot more if you look around some.

Quote From Source:
May and June historically are the driest months of the year for the Phoenix area, but rain is forecast, particularly on Friday.

Phoenix hit a record 110 degrees Monday, but by Friday the forecast high is in the low to mid-70s, some 30 degrees below average. The Weather Service says the lowest high temperature on record for Phoenix for May 23 is 70 degrees.

Temperatures are coming down today, but the winds are picking up. Winds in the Valley are expected to get up to 20-30 mph, with gusts up to 55. A wind advisory in affect for the Valley and much of the state from 11am-11pm.9
