People rescued from car on swamped Cape Coral street

Quote From Source:
People had to be rescued from a car stalled on a swamped Cape Coral street this afternoon.

The car was reported to be stuck in the 600 block of Southeast 8th Place, said police Capt. Lisa Barnes.

Police and firefighters were sent out to rescue the occupants.

“Everybody is fine,” she said.

She said parts of Southeast 8th Place were flooded, as well as the 400 and 500 blocks of Cultural Park Boulevard.

At Coral Oaks Golf Course in north Cape Coral, 6.7 inches of rain was recorded by 11 a.m.
