Pakistan and the US on Brink of War?
| Quote From Source: | In July, President George W. Bush approved covert ground raids into suspected militant hideouts in the Waziristan region of Pakistan, much of which is a Taliban stronghold. Militants use the region as a sanctuary from which to strike foreign and Afghan troops in neighboring Afghanistan. Thus far, U.S. forces attempted at least three ground assaults. The only confirmed ground invasion of Pakistan, on Sept. 3, led to the deaths of around 20 civilians, including women and children. No militant leaders were believed captured or killed in the raid.
This ground assault led to unprecedented rhetoric from Pakistan condemning the United States. Even Chief of Army Staff Gen. Ashfaq Kayani, normally quite evasive with the media, said that the army would defend Pakistan's territory. The Pakistani government summoned the U.S. ambassador to the foreign office and blocked NATO supplies vital to the multinational force's continued operation in Afghanistan.
Pakistan averted two other attempted ground raids when its border forces fired warning shots at U.S. helicopters ferrying commandos into Waziristan. On the most recent occasion, Pakistan and U.S. troops exchanged fire for five minutes. Pakistan's government later claimed that its army fired flares, not bullets, at the helicopters, but this explanation did not sound very convincing.

Suicide bomber kills at least 18 at Pakistani politician's home
| Quote From Source: | A wave of violence from Islamic extremists against Pakistan's politicians intensified yesterday with a suicide bombing at the home of an opposition legislator that left at least 18 dead.
Within the past week, two political leaders from Awami National Party, which leads the regional government in the insurgency-plagued North West Frontier Province, were targeted. The assault against Mr. Nowani could signal a broadening of the militants' campaign of violence.

OH - and of course, they're broke
| Quote From Source: | The security crisis has pushed Pakistan into danger of default on its debt, as money has fled abroad and the currency plunged in value, hitting a new low against the dollar yesterday after the rating agency S&P downgraded the country further into junk territory.
Pakistan now has about eight weeks worth of foreign exchange reserves left and new president Asif Zardari has appealed for massive international financial support.

Well they may need a war to fight off a recession. We are broke though so maybe they should attack a country with money.
They should take the warning labels off of everything and let stupidity sort itself out.

They will lose. Badly.
I think their government is just trying to shit buffer things between the US and the pakistani people. Making it look like they are defiant to the US while still cooperating with us for the most part on the flip side. |

So we are illegally conducting strikes in Pakistan and Syria? Is Bush just begging for war crimes charges?

So if they are dead they are militants if they survive they are "suspected Militants or Taliban insurgents" WTF? Sort of like that movie Full Metal Jacket, if they run they are VC if they don't they are well disciplined VC. Can't win with the US media it seems, don't get targeted. Calling someone an insurgent while invading a sovereign nation assumes that those invading are a legitimate government. Semantics just another tool of war.
As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron."

Maybe they are engineering a war to stem over population and growth. Best way to control that is to kill off all the young bucks.
They should take the warning labels off of everything and let stupidity sort itself out.
