James Hansen wants oil execs on trial
| Quote From Source: | James Hansen, one of the world's leading climate scientists, will today call for the chief executives of large fossil fuel companies to be put on trial for high crimes against humanity and nature, accusing them of actively spreading doubt about global warming in the same way that tobacco companies blurred the links between smoking and cancer.

| Quote From Source: | He is also considering personally targeting members of Congress who have a poor track record on climate change in the coming November elections. He will campaign to have several of them unseated. Hansen's speech to Congress on June 23 1988 is seen as a seminal moment in bringing the threat of global warming to the public's attention. At a time when most scientists were still hesitant to speak out, he said the evidence of the greenhouse gas effect was 99% certain, adding "it is time to stop waffling".

If this is isn't an election year ploy, what is. I officially hate that guy. Target the oil execs in times where oil is out of control, target the pol's that aren't with him, in the name of saving the earth. Sounds fishy. I know he's a whack job to begin with, and is a known AGW proponent, is known to have been paid by the greens and dems. It makes me wonder if how much he's getting funnelled to him on one way or another to make a rucus right now. |

Oh this ones rich:
| Quote From Source: | His sharpest words are reserved for the special interests he blames for public confusion about the nature of the global warming threat. I want Hansen on trail for fraud, theft by deception, etc. Him and Gore are two peas in a pod. You can't trust them any further than you can throw them. Remember Hansen is the one that screwed up his temperature numbers because of a Y2K issue and then whines about having his work censored. Whats the matter Hansen? Don't like being held accountable?

More:
| Quote From Source: | The year of Hansen's original testimony was the world's hottest year on record. Since then, 14 years have been hotter, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

Was 1988 really the hottest year up to that point? Sounds dubious to me. |

Great comentary from Robert Felix on this:
http://iceagenow.com/NASA_sc...oil_firm_chiefs_on_trial.htm
That's it right there, Nuremburg style trials for "deniers". Also, $250k. I've read he's gotten over a million from various groups related to the Dems and the greens. That's a lot of dought. So, who is the one whos interest are being bought out now???
They don't want to let the "deniers" win the debate through good old fashion science. No, they want to throw them in jail before they get that chance. I hate big oil as much as the next guy, and I bet there may even be reasons to put them on trial. I don't think this is one of them. |
