'Fire of a Lifetime'
| Quote From Source: | A fire so monstrous and swift it created its own windstorm left firefighters racing Friday to finish evacuating hundreds of North Florida homes and assembling a massive fleet of bulldozers.
Lightning ignited the blaze a week ago in south Georgia in a patch of Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge called Bugaboo Island. Three days later it crossed into Florida west of Jacksonville and has astounded authorities by consuming tens of thousands of acres each day.
"We had comments coming in from people who said it looked like the end of the world," said fire-weather forecaster Deborah Hanley of the Florida Division of Forestry in Tallahassee.
"Once a fire gets this big, it almost creates its own wind," said Columbia County Director of Tourism Harvey Campbell, who occasionally sputtered and choked on the smoke in the air. He said one fire official had referred to the blaze as "the fire of a lifetime."
"We're dying up here. It's almost enough to make you look forward to hurricane season."

I dont think anybody expected that fire to get this far out of hand.
They should take the warning labels off of everything and let stupidity sort itself out.
