Lightning sparks 800-plus fires in California

Moments later, a top state fire official standing at Schwarzenegger's side offered a grim update: The figure was actually 842 fires, said Del Walters, assistant regional chief of the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection. All but a couple were in the northern part of the state.
"This is an unprecedented lightning storm in California, that it lasted as long as it did, 5,000 to 6,000 lightning strikes," Walters said. "We are finding fires all the time."

I cannot help but to wonder how many of these 800 wildfires was purposefully set to avoid a foreclosure. Kind of like that joke, "collect the insurance on the truck to make the truck payment."
I don't know if insurance will cover what you paid and if you lost 200,000 in equity before the fire, you would still be upside down.
I know with cars you pay the same amount every month for 5 years whether that car was worth 30k new or 15k later. If you total it in the end they will only pay the value of the car at the time. Not what you have been paying for. Insurance is a scam as well. Just try to get them to pay anything.
They should take the warning labels off of everything and let stupidity sort itself out.
