Crank Flashlight
Crank flashlights are great. We have one ourselves.
This is the one we have.

It is ok. Doesn't give off enough light in my opinion. I mean it will certainly help you find your way around in the dark but I personally like a little more light coverage.
Now this one looks great. It has 7 leds so you'll get more light out of it than the first one I showed. Plus this one can be charged directly as well instead of just cranking. So it gives you two ways to charge the batteries. It costs a little more but looks to be a better piece of hardware.

Another source for this light.

Woohoo, I may need my crank light/radio here in a few, we're expected to have 60-70 mph wind gusts by noon here. |

Making a hand crank generator out of a drill is pretty clever.
