I finally made a batch of these little cotton ball tinder thingys. They work! They last longer than 8 minutes though. Mine are each burning for about 2 hours or longer. With 2 containers of vaseline, I was able to make about 43 balls. You can get the off brand vaseline at the dollar store. Day before yesterday, the electricity went out for our street. I lit 2 emergency candles and 1 cotton ball. The cotton ball burned alot brighter. Everyone was shocked as to what it was. Thanks for the tip!!!!

OMG..it worked but do not surround the whole cotton ball with foil as it will hinder it...just put it around it and and put two soaked cotton balls in it. light it and mine stayed lit for 10 minutes...allowing me to start a small fire
