Thoughts in general for hydrogen Fuel Cells

http://www.h2fc.com/reframe....dustry/fcellcomp/index.shtml

Seems one stock I was playing is Ballard Systems in Canada and they sold their technology to Ford and Chrysler.

TEL AVIV (MarketWatch) -- Ballard Power Systems, the Vancouver producer of hydrogen fuel cells, said it agreed to sell its automotive-fuel-cell business to Daimler AG of Germany and Ford Motor Co. of Dearborn, Mich. As payment, Ballard will receive the 34.3 million of its shares that Daimler and Ford hold. The shares are valued at US$168 million based on their 20-day average trading price, Ballard said. Auto-fuel-cell development is expensive and time-consuming, Ballard said, adding that going forward it will concentrate on developing the cells for industrial applications. Ballard expects to record a gain on the transaction of $95 million to $105 million and will retire the shares it receives in the deal. About 113, or 20%, of Ballard's staffers will join Daimler and Ford, the company said. The boards of Ballard and Ford have approved the terms. The deal is subject to approval by Daimler's supervisory board and clearance by antitrust regulators. Separately, Ballard reported that it narrowed its third-quarter net loss to 14 cents a share from 16 cents, as revenue rose 53% to $17.6 million.

Stocks like these can net you huge gains. Granted I didn't own many shares but over a dollar gain with a thousand shares....not bad for a days work.

Late October this stock was around $4.65 a share and after that news on the 8th it jumped and closed at $5.70 a share

Its too many stocks for 1 person to keep track of. Lets team up and find the leaders in this.

All you need is a brokerage account like E*Trade or Scottrade and maybe $500.00 to get started. Its not going to take a huge sum and you can make some money and have fun.

All those solar stocks I listed are up today..even though the nasdaq is down. That should tell you something there. On a really good up day...you can make some money.

SOLF is up a dollar
STP was up two but dropped back down to a dollar
SPWR was up three dollar but dropped back to around a dollar
YGE was up over a dollar but dropped back down but still in the postivie

ENS is up

the others i listed are all down....like I said your best bets were the top 4. When we have a good day....life will be good, i can take my profits and look for other options.

Just go to E*Trade and open a free account. Add your bank account and do a transfer...1 grand is fine to start with. takes 5 business days before you can start trading.

I'm looking into metals as well. Dry shipping has been pretty hot as well. SLT in India (copper and other metals looks good)

I use Yahoo finance to track live streaming quotes. Just type in the ticker symbols and get the info you need.

MSN finance does a good job showing earnings with percentages.

www.stockselector.com is another site I use to research

i think though that i would not so much get into it for trading everyday but put money into something and have it give me returns. basically, just sitting my stocks but not sure if that would work well.

In order to make money..you must take your profits. Watch your stocks....if they lose 7% sell
If they gain 20% or more..sell and retain those profits.

Open a regular trading account....

Hydrogen has potential. If it were me I'd use large solar arrays to drive electrolysis that produces the hydrogen for the cars. Green all the way. Is it the most efficient method in the world? Probably not. But it would be the greenest.

Cheap, free, renewable at least, is what we as a nation need to strive for.

I'm not too happy with E85. Try to find a station that sells it for one...and then realize how much energy it takes just to make it. The ratio is whacked on it. Takes more fossil fuels to burn and make E85 than it is worth.

Right now I see hybrids becoming more mainstream, and hydrogen fuel cells like Indy says for the future...like by 2010.

We have plenty of time to research companies and get tips and leads.

Cars that belch water out of the exhaust may be a blessing or curse. In hot climates with large populations...the humidity may climb too high to continue to live lol.

Hybrids that were mated with hydrogen motors instead of gasoline engines.....now that would be a bad ass car.

I'd sell everything I had but my house, wife, and kids just to get one.

I've been thinking about it, and we shouldn't be striving for a panacea to our fuel. We need to diversify, try to get as many automobiles, homes, etc running on as many renewable fuel sources as possible. If we don't diversify, we'll just run into the same problem some day down the road.

i think that it most would think that was too tough due to the fact that a "gas" station can only store so much fuel whatever that fuel may be. its possible to diversify but would be extremely tough.
