Raser Technologies eyes geothermal push (RZ)

Quote From Source:
NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- Raser Technologies Chairman Kraig Higginson eyes the vast tracts of empty land in the Western U.S. as the target of an acquisition push by companies seeking to tap into the region's close-to-the-surface heat for geothermal electricity.

"There's only one jack rabbit per 100 square miles," Higginson joked about the region known as the ring of fire, including Nevada, Utah, New Mexico and Arizona. "There's a gold rush for geothermal leases, but fortunately we rushed early."
After moving toward the geothermal arena about 18 months ago, Higginson said the company plans to launch its first geothermal plant by early 2008, with several more scheduled for start-up after that.

This stock has been creeping up as well. They are doing some big things. I'll probably take up small positions in this company tomorrow and average up if one of them breaks out on big volume.

Raser Technologies Inc. (RZ) is not profitable yet, but they have some serious backing and should be doing really well in the future. If you are a patient investor and keep up with them and what they are doing...follow the news and study them, call them, see what they are up to, you could buy in a little more every month. This stock just may play out in the future. It is risky, but there seems to be very little fear surrounding this one...hence the price of closing today at $13.50.

They are into a lot of things and seem to be a company of the future. You just may wake up one day very glad you bought this stock when it was cheap.

Glad you didn't buy FTEK.

Mike this is a dangerous market. If you add more prepare to set emotions aside and ignore it lol.

I'd do about 500.00 in this one and 500.00 in one of the smaller solars like CSUN...they have no earnings yet either. If they do get into positive territory this stock will break free and run.

CSIQ went up too much and will probably drop a tad...if you buy it now....don't be surprised to see it drop a bit. YGE and SOLF may be good buys as well.

CSIQ is probably going to be your best bet though. They are profitable...which is what you want. All the other cheap solars have no profit and are running in the red.

You choose between SOLF, YGE, CSIQ, and go from there. All three are based in China and CSIQ is Canadian owned.

If you don't care about profitability, EMKR, CSUN, ASTI, and AMAT should be on your radar.

I'd choose between EMKR and CSUN....and would probably pick CSUN.... Foreign stocks go up faster. But EMKR has a lot more money (look at market cap). Either way...research the companies and choose as you will. Its tough to decide. I came so close to buying CSIQ for 18 about two weeks ago and it closed at 26.88 today....go figure.

They idea to make money in the stock market is to lose the least amount of money possible. You don't lose until you sell. If your stock goes below your 7% buy point, you should sell. If you make 20% you should sell, wait a bit then reinvest. You learn to take your gains. These are rules you should follow.....yet Stocks in the market go up and down and the big investors "shake" people out of stocks by letting them drop 5 bucks to scare the shit out of people into selling so they can buy them cheaper and make more money.

Follow the news at the bottom of the yahoo finance or google finance page when you type in your stock ticker. If there is no bad news or you cannot find out why your stock is dropping...check the leaders....STP, FSLR, and SPWR. IF they are dropping that is probably why yours is dropping.

If you cannot find any bad news...they are shaking you out and your stock will rise in the next few days. These solars recover very fast so don't get down if your stock goes down.

Wait...it WILL go back up. Too much money in solars and too many ppl investing in them now. Don't let them shake you out and take your money. I can be reached through here or msn (savageyzf@hotmail.com) if you have any questions.

Investing is 98% emotion and until you get a grip on it..you will not succeed. Don't be emotional.......hold fast.

Another 1.51 up today.......doing good so far.

CSIQ is up another 1.61

I fully expect the solars to bleed off at the end of the year. I wouldn't be holding any of them. Many are up over 300% and it will be tax time..they will dump them to pay their 15% on their earnings.

Seems as though investors didn't like that Merril Lynch story. Financials got their butts kicked all week. Anybody that had anything to do with a financial stock paid a price. Stupid but now would be a great time to buy more of RZ now that is cheap again.
