Temps Top 100 in West From Heat Wave

Quote From Source:
BOISE, Idaho (AP) - Sweltering residents across the West headed for lakes and rivers on Thursday, seeking relief from triple-digit temperatures expected to set records through at least Friday.
Some office workers were given the option to float on innertubes down the Boise River instead of sitting at stuffy desks, with temperatures in Boise reaching 104 degrees Thursday afternoon. Forecasters predicted a high of 107 on Friday—six degrees higher than the 101 record for that date set in 1985.

"Once it gets that high—105, 107, 109—it just feels hot," said Rick Overton, a copywriter who arranged the float trip for the digital marketing firm Wirestone. "I'm going to keep a tube under my desk for the whole summer and whenever it gets this hot I'm going to escape."

We have been flooded and cool, and I suppose I would rather be in an area such as this, then to be in the West where they are literally cooking. I cannot believe we have had it this good this year. I remember several summers where we were the ones cooking. As early as April one year we were topping 110. So it is nice we are getting a break the heat, but I would like to dry out a bit.

They should take the warning labels off of everything and let stupidity sort itself out.

Repeat after me: When it's unusually warm in one place, you can damn sure bet it's unusually cold someplace else.

100ish degree reading are unusually high out there. Then again, 78 in Kings Mountain NC on July 2nd is unusually low....

Agreed. Last summer we had unusually high temps for a long time. There were times when our official high was higher than Death Valley (e.g., 116F).

This summer has been much cooler, if not wetter!

Its 75 in Irving, Tx.

This is normal weather for March or April, except for the excessive rain.

Like I said, I'd rather be wet and cool than hot and dry.

Geez look at some of these temps

I remember a few years ago we go into my wife's Toyota Sienna minivan that has a really accurate temp gauge and it was the middle of August in a parking lot in North Richland Hills and it read 126 degrees. After driving around a bit and got the air moving it settled down to 118. That was one freaking hot summer. We have not hit 96 yet this year. I love it.
