First time in these boards

Hi, my name is mohammed and I'm a forex trader and long time energy futures watcher. I stumbled up on this site on looking up climate changes and am here to learn. Looking forward to understanding what 'global warming' and 'global cooling' is about. Or whether i should put on a tin foil hat and call it a day, hah.

Hello and welcome to the site. I am glad you did. Your question is valid and probably becoming a very popular one. I have an answer for you. It is lengthy but hopefully it will help you understand.

The earth is 4.5 billion years old. We have been monitoring the climate for 47 years. To say climate study/change/globalwarming is in its infancy is really an understatement. The sperm has just found the egg so to speak. We have not even divided the first cell. This science is so new compared to how long things have been gong on that to even presume we as humans can predict or blame ourselves on the changing climate is perposterous.

Is the climate changing? Yes it is. But it has always changed. It will continue to change. Can we do anything about it? No....we cannot even stop a thunderstorm, so how the hell are we going to change the climate on a global scale? Its not possible.

If we are in danger of anything in the future it would be an ice age that rolls around like clockwork every 11,000 years. There is enough evidence and proof of that possiblity to actually be concerned with. I feel Global warming is a poliltical machine devised by a group of people that need money to fund the election in 2008.

Last year it was predicted that we would have one nasty hurricane season. They were not only wrong, but so far off that it was almost a joke. They rely on computer models that crunch numbers that where input by people with limited knowledge and not enough data. The models are only as good as the data put in. I can devise a model that will output anything I want it to. I could have us frying in ten years or buried under 20 stories of ice and snow. There is more evidence in ice cores and geological features that we are heading towards another ice age then to a globaly warmed planet.

It was posted recently by the administrator of this board that climate isnt in your backyard or just in your state or country. Climate is a global thing. Just because things are not like they were in your part of the world doesnt mean it is out of balance world wide. Our planet is in a constant state of flux and nothing stays the same. Remember we are just mere humans on board a living planet and we are just here for the ride. Our planet will change wether we are here or not. We may have a part in speeding up the change but there is absolutley no proof of that. No science can prove it. We would have to remove ourselves from the planet and monitor how things went without our presence. Since that is not possible or even feasible then we can only monitor changes and make observations.

Dont let the "fear of global warming" you read get to you. What is more feasible? That the human race has completely changed the climate going on about our daily business or a group has taken a +1 degree F temperature change since 1961 and blown it out of proportion to get funding for political means?

Make no mistake, the climate is changing but it is a natural thing. Wether humans inhabit the face of the earth or not, the climate on this planet is going to change. There are other forces at work 1000, x's more powerful than humans could ever dream of such as the sun and the oceans.

I would suggest reading this book, "Not by fire but by Ice" http://www.iceagenow.com/Orderboo.htm

It will give you another perspective on life, the climate, and it has real science in it.

They should take the warning labels off of everything and let stupidity sort itself out.
