Hello... [introduction]

Hi,

I am a web designer/scientist very interested in climate change. My most recent project is a website which gives individuals a climate agreement that they can sign online: http://climatepact.org. The hope is that people who commit to a written agreement will be more likely to take steps to reduce their impact on climate change.

Glad to be a part of the forum :)

Greetings. Nice to see another designer on the site.

While I may not agree with the idea that man is responsible for climate change I do think we all need to do our part to live a bit greener. Polluting certainly isn't a good thing. And there are things you can do that could make a difference.

For example a couple of years ago I replaced all my light bulbs in the house with the energy efficient bulbs. It greatly reduces the cost of lighting your home. It is something easy to do that any of us can do whether we own or rent a place.

Interestingly enough I think these horribly high gas prices are going to get people to live greener whether they want to or not. People aren't going to be so fast to buy an SUV. My next vehicle purchase will be either something like a Yaris or a hybrid.

Regardless of your stance on climate change people should commit to living smarter. Think about the energy you use. Think about the stuff you put in your body (food, meds, etc). Think about the waste you create. Where does it go? Recycle when possible.

It is sad when our landfills can double as a ski resort.
