BILOXI, Miss. -- Owners of improved property within the storm-inundated areas in the three Mississippi Gulf Coast counties can get assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in removing dead but standing trees between Oct. 2 and Dec. 1, 2006.

BILOXI, Miss. -- Individuals who received grant payments to compensate them for the damage to or destruction of their primary homes by Hurricane Katrina generally will not be required to include the grant proceeds in gross income. Disaster aid also will not cause recipients to lose U.S. Social Security Administration benefits.

ALBANY, N.Y. -- Two Disaster Assistance Service Centers (DASC) and both State and federal Disaster Helplines will be open on Monday, October 9, Columbus Day, to assist New Yorkers who were affected by the June floods, and who have registered for disaster assistance if they need further information.
