NASA has signed a $975 million contract extension with Pratt and Whitney Rocketdyne Inc. to maintain the agency's fleet of space shuttle main engines until the orbiter is retired in 2010.
Cassini scientists may have identified the source of one of Saturn's mysterious G ring, which likely is produced by relatively large, icy particles that reside within a bright arc on the ring's inner edge.
