ALEXANDRIA, La. -- Today is the last day for residents to apply for disaster assistance. Those Louisiana residents who suffered damages during the severe storms and flooding that occurred Oct. 16 through Nov. 8 must register before midnight on Jan. 2, 2007, said officials of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (GOHSEP).

LACEY, Wash. -- The State of Washington and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) are opening a Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) in King County to help individuals and business owners who suffered damages from the Nov. 2-11 flooding. Others are operating in Granite Falls, Kelso, Monroe, Packwood, and Puyallup.
