| DENTON, TEXAS -- The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has notified the City of Malvern, Ark., that it will be placed on probation from the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) unless measures are taken to correct identified floodplain management violations and program deficiencies. If the required measures are not taken, probation will begin March 6, 2007. |

Other DRCs are currently operating in Baring, Granite Falls, Kelso, Monroe, Packwood, Puyallup and Vancouver. |

The concept is called Mitigation and is critical to the rebuilding effort-especially in areas of risk. | LACEY, Wash. -- To date, $2,545,604 in Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) disaster recovery assistance has been disbursed to those affected by the Nov. 2-11 floods. Currently, 1,485 people have applied for FEMA assistance by calling the toll-free registration number 1-800-621-FEMA (3362), or TTY 1-800-462-7585 for the speech or hearing impaired. |
