| It seems as if wherever a renewable energy forum develops, elected officials are sure to be present, using the open dais as an opportunity to pledge their support to green energy, to clean communities and a clean environment. Cynics may sense that what is really occurring are just symbolic politics -- elected officials appealing to constituents through public statements; establishing renewable energy incentive programs and offering various sums to "demonstration projects." |

| Acciona acquired exclusive rights to develop 1300 megawatts (MW) worth of wind assets in the states of Illinois, Iowa and Wisconsin. The development will take place through an acquisition of projects from EcoEnergy, LLC. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. |

| On June 26 2007 Alstom announced its acquisition of the Spanish wind turbine manufacturer Ecotecnia for €350 million. Garrad Hassan Iberica (together with staff from the UK head office) acted as Alstom's Adviser on both technical and commercial issues for this acquisition. |

| European wind power markets will continue to grow steadily in the next eight years, with the region set to add an average of 9 GW per year through 2015, according to a new study from Emerging Energy Research - a leading advisory and consulting firm tracking emerging technologies in global energy markets. The European wind power market will grow from a total installed base of 48,452 MW at year-end 2006 to 130,816 MW at year-end 2015, according to EER's just-released market study. |
