CalRENEW-1, the largest utility-scale photovoltaic (PV) solar facility being developed under California's Renewables Portfolio Standard program, has received formal approval from the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC). The 5 megawatts (MW) of power generated by the project will be sold to Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) under a long-term power purchase agreement. Cleantech America, Inc. is developing the project.

3TIER announced today it was chosen by the National Renewable Energy Lab (NREL) to conduct the largest scale wind integration study ever undertaken. The Western Wind Integration Study (WWIS) will support federal and state initiatives to expand renewable energy capacity by helping utilities understand operational and cost impacts of wind power integration. Study results will be publicly available online after the study is complete in late spring 2008.
