| CalRENEW-1, the largest utility-scale photovoltaic (PV) solar facility being developed under California's Renewables Portfolio Standard program, has received formal approval from the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC). The 5 megawatts (MW) of power generated by the project will be sold to Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) under a long-term power purchase agreement. Cleantech America, Inc. is developing the project. |

| The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has announced the 20 university-led teams selected to compete in its fourth Solar Decathlon, which will be held in the fall of 2009. This year's teams have been selected from universities in the United States, Canada, and Germany and each team will receive $100,000 from DOE to design, build and operate an energy efficient, fully solar-powered home for the unique competition. |
