Westar Recieves Decision on Wind Investment (View Original Story)

| The Kansas Corporation Commission (KCC) has issued its order on Westar Energy, Inc.'s request for the commission to determine the rate treatment for its proposed investment in wind energy. The KCC found the utility's proposal to invest in wind energy prudent, but declined to approve Westar's request for an incentive rate of return. |

| The last of the 76 turbines in the first-phase of development at Portland General Electric Company's (PGE) Biglow Canyon Wind Farm in Sherman County, Oregon are online. PGE broke ground on the project in February of this year, and the first turbines began generating electricity for the utility's customers in October. |
