Hamilton Sundstrand, a subsidiary of United Technologies Corp., and US Renewables Group have reached an agreement to commercialize the company's Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) tower technology and corresponding molten salt storage system developed by Rocketdyne under the name SolarReserve. United Technologies acquired Rocketdyne in 2005.

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) has issued a license for a hydrokinetic energy project, which will be located in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Washington State. The license, for the Makah Bay Offshore Wave Pilot Project, includes mitigation measures to protect the environment.

Babcock & Brown and BP Alternative Energy today announced full commercial operation of the Cedar Creek wind farm in Weld County, Colorado. The 300.5 megawatt (MW) wind-power facility has been delivered on time, on budget and without a single lost time incident during its construction. General contractor Mortenson Construction has received industry recognition for construction performance of one of the largest single-build wind projects in the U.S. to date.
