ATLANTA, Ga. -- A year has passed since tornadoes pummeled southern Alabama, cutting a swath across seven counties that ultimately received a Presidential disaster declaration. Since March 2007, tireless recovery efforts by state, local and federal agencies, as well as countless non-profit, private-sector and faith-based organizations, have helped to rebuild and strengthen once-battered lives and shattered communities. ATLANTA, Ga. -- The U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has approved a $6 million reimbursement to Georgia as a result of an April 2007 Fire Management Assistance Grant (FMAG) to help the state fight the Sweat Farm Road Fire.
