Snowmelt.....
BTW, when it's hot out west, I look for cold back east. Rarely is it hot EVERYWHERE in the US at the same time...
110 !? is that anywhere normal ?
its mid 90s here and I'm bakin
BTW, where is the warm air coming from? It's 55F right now in Seattle, and not all that much warmer to the south.

Downsloping winds (like Santa Anas?)
What a freaky heatwave. It will come out of nowhere and vanish after just a couple of days. They will go from 60's for highs to 90's for ONE day (surrounded by a total of three 80's days) and back to the 60's again. This is the forecast for Portland, OR. They will even hit the 50's for highs on the 22nd. Talk about strange.
And speaking of warm weather where is mine? In Indianapolis we have hit the low 80's just three times. And looking at the long range forecast that is how the month of May will end. We will hit meteorological summer having basically seen no real warmth. May should finish way below normal for us.
I hate to even think something might happen ... but my parents used to call this Earthquake Weather.
It's 80 and humid today here in San Francisco ... tomorrow it's suppose to be 90!
I think calling a 1 day heatwave a super heatwave may be a bit of an exaggeration.
I think the warmest I have seen here in northern Utah so far is mid 70's...forcast is for 80 this weekend
well, it's gonna feel like a "super heat wave", relative to what we've had here the last few months. People are already complaining about the heat and we still have ~20 degrees to go on Friday.
It's only 73 right now at 6:48 PM and it really does feel hot.
90 in SF is pretty rare...

I guess its track would look almost like an upside down 'u'. |

I'm in the mountains of NC on a fishing trip and I am FREEZING MY ASS OFF!!!
Got to Linville Gorge and it was 61F. By the time we left, it was 53F. When we got to the cabin it was 48F. With a 25mph wind. It's freakin mid-May. The trees aren't even REMOTELY out with leaves yet.
Send Al Gore up here so I can kick him in the nuts....

An upside down 'u'? lol. Like an 'n' ![]() |

You people west of the Mississippi don't know the meaning of the word "humid".
One day last August, Wunderground reported a dewpoint of 84F on the coast on NC. Creating a heat index of 125F.
You don't know humid....
I remember a few summers ago when we had a wild day of humidity. It was so bad there was water dripping from the door jam on the inside of the house. It was 80 degrees with a 79 degree dew point. It was horrible. But the very severe storm that came through later cleaned that out pretty well. What a wild storm.

nope but thats pretty funny.
I miss our super heat wave
I'm glad it's gone. I can't stand that weather. Yesterday was nice with mild temps (50s), about 15-20 mph winds, and some rain.
yeah, got up to almost 90 here yesterday...brought a ton of water down for the river. made for great rafting today. tomorrow, its supposed to be 54 with rain. thats the kind of weather i like.
