Washington Times Exposes AP Bias In Climategate Reporting

Way to go Washington Times for busting the AP on this dishonest bit of work to protect those involved in Climategate. Mad props. You guys really need to read this story in full.

Case in point is an 1,800-word AP missive that appeared in hundreds of publications, many carrying it on the front page of their Sunday, Dec. 13 issue with the headline, "Science not faked, but not pretty." AP gave three scientists copies of the controversial e-mails and then asked them about their conclusions. So does this make the AP an accomplice? Or are they just guilty of shoddy reporting? I really expected more from them. But what do you do when you've blindly run one global warming story after another without apparently checking your work? You have to defend your source of information. This is like Dan Rather and the stupid Bush memo that he ran with. Same thing but on a much larger scale. There are reputations at stake and many are getting ruined.

I am not a climate expert. However I was aware of this one fact about this paper.

It would be sort of like finding out that capitalism is corrupt from Soviet "Pravda" newspaper. Without an impartial expert opinion (how do you get it today I have no clue) I do not buy their story.

Doesn't matter who the messenger is. It only matters whether the story is true or not.

In a perfect World I would go with that one, however it is not perfect.

So "I" chose to use the litmus test that "the messenger" does matter.
